Writing Center
Our Mission
The Writing Center helps students become stronger, more confident writers. We work with students of all levels on any part of the writing process—from brainstorming to final revisions.
How We Work
Professional tutors meet with students individually or in small groups (2–3 students). Tutors provide feedback on clarity, organization, development, citation, and more. Through conversation and questioning, we help students strengthen their writing and revision strategies.
Every writer needs a reader—tutors offer the feedback and support all writers need to grow.

Additional Online Support
Students can also access free, chat-based writing tutoring through the STAR-NY consortium. Click “Request a Tutor” on the site to get started.
