Did you know registration for the spring 2026 semester is open? This The Hive Post edition highlights what you need to do to get ready to meet with your academic advisor and pick your classes for the spring.
What is an academic advisor? An Academic Advisor is a dedicated professional who supports your overall success at SUNY Broome. They help you navigate your academic journey, connect you with campus resources, and make informed decisions about your goals and opportunities. While course planning and registration are part of their role, Academic Advisors also assist you in understanding your degree pathway, exploring options that align with your interests, and developing the skills needed to take ownership of your college experience. Your Academic Advisor is a valuable partner in your growth, academically, personally, and professionally—so don’t hesitate to reach out and ask questions!
Who is my academic advisor? You are assigned an Academic Advisor who will be there to help during your time at SUNY Broome. To find out who your academic advisor is, search your program on our Academic Advising website under “Step 2: Who is my academic advisor?”
If you are wondering what exactly advising and registration means, you are not alone. You may hear different words that are completely new to folks who have not attended college or taken classes through SUNY Broome before. To help you become familiar with the different terms you may be hearing a lot, we have created a deck of flashcards.
