Accessibility Resources Office

Mission Statement
The Accessibility Resources Office (ARO) serves the College in creating a learning/living environment that is inclusive of and accessible to students with disabilities. ARO partners with students, faculty, and staff to identify pathways of access and elimination of barriers to academic and student-life activities and facilities, so that all students have full benefit of the College offerings. With a philosophy of student self-awareness and self-advocacy, ARO provides accommodations, services and assistive technologies that promote student independence to address individual needs.
Eligibility for Accommodations
To be considered for reasonable accommodations, students must submit appropriate disability documentation through the AROConnect page. Acceptable documentation may include psychological evaluation reports, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504, or documentation completed by a current provider using the applicable form below.
Chronic Health Provider Form (pdf)
Hearing and Vision Provider Form (pdf)
Mental Health Provider Form (pdf)
Once eligibility is established, students will work with an Accessibility Specialist to identify reasonable academic accommodations and build self-advocacy skills. Eligible students may also access services such as testing accommodations, readers, note-takers, and assistive technology through the Accessibility Resources Office (ARO).
Students who suspect they may have a learning disability are encouraged to meet with an Accessibility Specialist to discuss their concerns. After an initial interview and screening, students who may require further evaluation may be eligible for an on-campus diagnostic assessment. If a disability is identified, appropriate accommodations can then be arranged.
Services Provided
The services provided or coordinated for students with disabilities include testing accommodations, note-takers, alternate format texts, assistive technology support, interpreters, academic coaching, facilities access, and housing related accommodations.
ARO also provides consultative services to faculty/staff, tutors, and community organizations involved in the education of students with disabilities.
