A Secure and Supportive Testing Environment
The Student Success Center Testing Center provides a secure, distraction-reduced testing environment for students who require disability-related testing accommodations or who have been approved by their instructor to take a make-up or alternate exam.
Our goal is to ensure that exams are administered fairly, securely, and in accordance with instructor guidelines while providing students with the support they need to be successful.

Who Can Use the Testing Center?
- Students approved for testing accommodations through the Accessibility Resources Office (ARO)
- Students taking instructor-approved make-up or alternate exams
- Students referred by faculty for approved testing arrangements

Student Information
Students registered with Accessibility Resources should:
- Schedule exams through the Student Accommodate Portal
- Schedule appointments at least 48 hours in advance
- Review appointment details before arriving
- Students Taking Instructor-Approved Make-Up Exams
Students who are not registered with Accessibility Resources but need to take an instructor-approved make-up exam should contact the Student Success Center at 607-778-5038 to schedule an appointment.
Walk-in and same-day testing appointments are not available.
Before You Arrive
Please bring:
- SUNY Broome Student ID
- Any instructor-approved testing materials
- Approved assistive technology (if applicable)
Arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in.
During Your Exam
Students should:
- Check in at the Student Success Center Welcome Desk (L017)
- Store personal belongings in designated lockers unless approved by the instructor
- Follow all instructor directions and Testing Center policies
- Maintain academic integrity throughout the exam
Testing Center Policies
To ensure a secure and equitable testing environment:
- Appointments are required.
- Exams must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
- Cell phones, smart watches, headphones, and other electronic devices are not permitted unless specifically authorized.
- Students arriving late may need instructor approval before beginning their exam.
- All exams are administered according to instructor directions and SUNY Broome’s Academic Integrity Policy.
Faculty Information
Faculty play an important role in ensuring students receive approved testing accommodations in a secure and timely manner.
To help us provide the best testing experience, please submit exams through the Faculty Accommodate Portal at least 24 hours prior to the student’s scheduled testing appointment. When submitting an exam, please complete the exam request form with as much detail as possible, including testing time, permitted materials, calculator use, and any additional instructions for exam administration.
