  • Go for a HIKE at SUNY Broome!
  • The SUNY Broome’s Natural Areas span 125 acres, and feature 3.8 miles of well-marked trails that cross a variety of terrain.
  • You can access the trails at three community entrances:
    • The top of Sunrise Drive in Dickinson
    • Through the dirt parking lot along Lt. Van Winkle Drive
    • Behind the BAGSAI softball field.

  • Go for a SKATE at SUNY Broome!
  • SUNY Broome’s Ice Center offers ice skating for everyone, including lunchtime and open skate opportunities.
  • Enjoy one of the many public parks in Broome County. Go for a hike, swim, paddle a kayak, have a picnic, or play around on the playground. In the winter, there are options for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
  • The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier is an interactive children’s museum. It features 25+ themed play-and-learn exhibits and an outdoor story garden.
  • The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park (Mid-April – Mid-October) opened in 1875, making it the 5th oldest zoo in the nation. Visit the mammals, birds, and reptiles that call Ross Park home.
  • Animal Adventure Park, located in Harpursville, NY, offers a walk-thru zoo and a drive-thru zoo that allows visitors to get up close and personal with over 100 species of animals.
  • Kidz Kingdom is a locally owned children’s activity center with a jungle gym, bounce house, and toddler area. It’s a great spot for birthday parties and close to the SUNY Broome campus!
  • TR Bounce House has open hours for children of all ages to play.
  • Binghamton’s Family Fun website offers even more information on child-friendly activities in the community.
