Financial aid at SUNY Broome falls into three broad categories:

  1. grants that do not have to be repaid
  2. loans on which interest rates are usually low and that must be repaid after graduation or leaving college
  3. part-time employment called “Work-Study.”

Assistance usually comes from a combination of these resources, commonly referred to as a “financial aid package.”

If you are interested in receiving financial aid, including student loans, scholarships, and grants, you must complete the federal FAFSA application at and the New York State TAP or APTS applications. (BCC's Code is 002862)

NOTE: You must be a matriculated student taking at least one credit bearing course and meet federal and state guidelines. (A “matriculated student” is someone enrolled in a degree-granting or certificate program of study.)
