Liberal Arts and Sciences

Liberal Arts and Sciences: A.A.

The Liberal Arts and Sciences A.A. offers a traditional university-parallel program for students who want to go on to a baccalaureate degree in any of the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Interested in becoming a psychologist, a writer or a historian? This is where to begin. Not sure? This is the place to explore your options.

  • 100% of this program can be completed online.

Students who complete our Liberal Arts and Sciences A.A. degree are prepared for transfer to four-year institutions throughout the United States. If transferring to a SUNY school, they bring with them all SUNY general education requirements and can usually enter as juniors.

Preparing to Major In English

In order to ensure seamless transfer, students should learn as much as they can about their baccalaureate program requirements either by consulting a SUNY Broome academic advisor or a transfer counselor at the transfer school. Some four year programs automatically admit those with the LAAS degree, others have structured “2+2” articulation agreements.

Transfer to some colleges is guaranteed through an articulation agreement between SUNY Broome and the transfer institution. Articulation agreements can be viewed here.
