Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to provide a mechanism by which College officials can immediately determine the identity of a student.

Statement of the Policy

It is the policy of the SUNY Broome Community College to issue identification cards to students enrolled in credit courses. SUNY Broome Community College requires all students enrolled in credit courses to carry a valid SUNY Broome Community College identification card. The student ID provides access to campus facilities and services, ensures campus security by verifying student identity, and enables participation in college events, programs, and academic resources. Students enrolled in non-credit courses are encouraged but not required to have a SUNY Broome Community College identification card.
