FG7002 Tobacco Product Use Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to protect the health, safety, and comfort of students, employees, vendors, contractors and visitors of SUNY Broome campus and properties owned, leased or rented by SUNY Broome.

Statement of the Policy

SUNY Broome Community College prohibits the use of tobacco products of any kind on campus. This ban covers all smoking and/or tobacco products, including but not limited to chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco, electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers. Individuals are prohibited from smoking or using any of the above listed products on College property, including in vehicles, except in designated areas.

General Guidelines

• No individuals will use tobacco products of any kind on SUNY Broome property except while in designated areas.
• Any individual found in violation of this policy is subject to disciplinary action.
• Littering cigarette butts shall be a violation of this policy.
