Interim Actions

In certain situations where immediate measures are necessary to address safety concerns, protect the well-being of the SUNY Broome community, or prevent disruptions to campus operations, interim actions may be implemented. These actions are temporary and designed to address urgent issues promptly.

Types of Interim Actions

  • Administrative Directives: Temporary instructions imposed on a student to address immediate concerns.
  • Student Village Room Reassignment: Relocation of a student to a different room or building within the Student Village for safety or other reasons.
  • Restriction from Parts or All of Campus: Prohibition from accessing certain areas of campus to ensure safety or prevent disruption.

Request to Return to Campus

For students who are suspended, expelled, or dismissed from SUNY Broome in part or in whole, need to request to return to campus by filling out this request form. The form must be submitted 48 business hours prior to the requested date of return.

Approval to return to campus should be given from the Dean of Students, or designee. The Dean of Students Office will communicate directly with the Chief of Public Safety, and Director of Housing for specific needs.

Students who have been removed from the Student Village must receive approval before returning to the Student Village or surrounding grounds. Approval to return is provided by the Dean of Students or designee, and the Dean’s Office coordinates directly with Public Safety and Housing regarding clearance to return.

Request to Return to Student Village While Interim Suspended

An interim housing termination is a temporary removal from the residence hall while an Student Conduct Hearing or appeal process is in progress.  Students can request to return to their room for a few minutes to pick up belongings they need while awaiting a final decision regarding their case.
