Opportunities to Serve on the Campus Hearing Board (CHB)

The Student Rights and Responsibilities Coordinator’s office invites students, faculty, and staff to participate in the student conduct process by joining the Campus Hearing Board (CHB). Serving on the CHB is a valuable way to contribute to the SUNY Broome community, develop leadership skills, and positively impact student conduct outcomes.

About the Campus Hearing Board (CHB)

  • Role of CHB: The CHB is responsible for hearing cases where there is a potential for significant sanctions, such as suspension or expulsion from the College. Board members review evidence, listen to testimony, and make determinations regarding violations of the Student Code of Conduct.

How to Get Involved

  • Eligibility: Participation is open to students, faculty, and staff. All interested individuals must complete mandatory training before serving on the board.
  • Application: If you are interested in serving on the CHB, please email the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities at osrr@sunybroome.edu for more information on the application process and training schedule.
