Opening & Closing

Fall 2026 opening at the Student Village will take place Saturday, August 22, 2026.

You MUST meet all requirements listed on our Housing Application page. Your arrival time is:

  • 4th Floor Room assignments: 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • 3rd Floor Room assignments: 10:30 a.m. – Noon
  • 2nd Floor Room assignments: 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.
  • 1st Floor Room assignments: 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

If you have difficulty meeting your designated time, please email housing@sunybroome.edu at least 2 business days in advance.

REMINDER: Mandatory Student Village Community Meeting for all residential students on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center Cafeteria.

Residents are encouraged to leave within 24 hours of their last class/final – classes end Monday, December 14, 2026.*

*Those with late classes on the day of the Student Village closing, or a travel delay, may request to stay overnight to the following morning at 1 a.m. We encourage requests to be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance.

The Student Village will remain open during Thanksgiving and Spring Break – Residents MUST complete the application/registration to remain. Please note that Dining will not be open.

Winter Break

  • The Student Village closes Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 7:00 pm*, and reopens on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
    *Those with late classes on the day of the Student Village closing, or a travel delay, may request to stay overnight to the following morning at 10:00 am.
  • Break Days December 17 thorough January 23.

*ALL students must be registered for 12 or more credits (unless approved by Director of Housing & Residential Life)
*ALL students must have satisfied their financial obligation; through financial aid, payment plan or paid in full.
*You CANNOT move in without completing both of the above requirements.

  • Saturday, January 24, 2026
    • New Students: 9:00 am – Noon
    • Returning Students: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Sunday, January 25, 2026
    • 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Residents are encouraged to leave within 24 hours of their last class/final – classes end Monday, May 18, 2026.

The Student Village closes at 10:00 am for non-graduating students on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The Student Village closes at 10:00 am for graduating seniors on Friday, May 22, 2026.
