No. Each teacher must receive official approval from the Fast Forward Center via the SUNY Broome Academic Department, for each course being offered, before they enroll any students in the course.
The Fast Forward Facilitator is your point of contact regarding registration and general program questions, comments, and concerns.
The SUNY Broome academic department is your point of contact regarding course content and syllabus review.
Fast Forward instructors can go to the tab entitled “Teach a New Course” underneath the High School Faculty tab to fill out a brief application.
Yes. We require a current course syllabus for every semester that you teach the course.
No. All students except the following:
- Students who already have a valid certificate of residency on file with the college (certificates are good for one year).
- Foreign exchange students.
- Students who have not been a New York State resident for the past full year.
Until the student has lived in your county for six months, they will need to complete an application for a certificate of residency from their FORMER county.
Students residing in Broome County can be sent to the Fast Forward Center. Students residing in counties other than Broome must have the form appropriately notarized and sent to the respective county office.
Yes. The certificate of residence status does not relate to a student’s ability to obtain college credit. As long as the student completes a registration form and successfully completes the course, the student will receive college credit. Please note, all New York State residents attending a community college in New York State are required to obtain a certificate of residency.
