Women’s History Month
SUNY Broome Celebrates Women’s History Month
During Women’s History Month, observed annually each March since 1987, SUNY Broome salutes the women who shape our classrooms, labs, campuses, and communities. Every day, our students, faculty, staff, and alumni are expanding opportunity and driving progress.
We celebrate all women, and especially the women of SUNY Broome, who lead, innovate, and inspire excellence. The National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA) theme for Women’s History Month 2026 is “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future” which goes beyond environmental concerns, to encompass financial sustainability, community resilience, leadership succession, and intergenerational equity.
Whether developing green technologies, advancing economic justice, strengthening education systems, or building civic power – women are shaping a sustainable future by fostering systems that support both people and the planet. Throughout the month, we will highlight the impacts and contributions of some of the remarkable women of SUNY Broome on our web and social media platforms. We encourage our campus community to partake in the Women’s History Month events!
