The Office of Workforce and Community Partnerships at SUNY Broome serves as a bridge between the College and the community, strengthening our region by connecting learners, employers, and entrepreneurs through high-impact workforce training, career services, strategic business partnerships, and thoughtfully curated enrichment experiences.

Strategic Goals & Outcomes

Expand high-impact workforce training, industry credentials, and stackable learning opportunities that increase earning potential and support career mobility.

  • Increase participation in workforce training, professional development, and microcredential programs.
  • Expand the number of industry-recognized credentials and stackable learning pathways offered.
  • Improve completion rates across workforce and open enrollment programs.

Deepen strategic collaboration with regional employers to align programming, career services, and talent pipelines with evolving workforce needs.

  • Increase the number of active employer partnerships supporting training alignment, contract training, and talent pipeline development.
  • Expand corporate training and customized workforce solutions designed to meet employer skill needs
  • Increase internship, apprenticeship, and work-based learning opportunities.

Enhance career exploration and development initiatives to prepare learners for meaningful employment and entrepreneurial pathways.

  • Expand participation in Hornet Academy, StartUp Summit, and related K-12 initiatives.
  • Increase employer participation in recruitment, career events, and talent pipeline activities.
  • Improve career readiness indicators among participating students.

Strengthen the impact of the economic vitality of the region by supporting entrepreneurs and businesses through advising, education, and partnership initiatives.

  • Increase the number of entrepreneurs and small businesses served through the Entrepreneurship Assistance Center (EAC).
  • Expand workshops, advising engagements, and business development programming.
  • Increase business formation, stabilization, or growth outcomes among participating clients.
  • Strengthen partnerships with regional economic development organizations.
