How Do I Link to a Document in a Blog? Method OneFinding a Document's URLAfter entering the document library folder, locate the document. To the right of the document, click Actions then Edit and copy the file's URL (see image below). Linking to a Document in a BlogInside a blog post, click the Insert/Edit Link icon (it looks like the world with a chain-link) (see first image below). Inside the link screen, paste the document URL in the text-box beneath URL and click OK (see second image below). An automatic title for the document will be created and the link will appear in blue in your blog post. Click Save on your blog post. The link will appear normal on the blog until hovered over, then it will change color to blue and show an underline (see first image below). Clicking the link will begin the downloading or opening process of that document (see second image below).
TIPChanging the Name of Your LinkThe only way to change the name of your linked document is to edit the HTML. After entering in the edit or add screen of a blog post, click the Source button. The HTML coding of your document link will look something like what is below. Method TwoEnter your blog post, click the Insert/Edit Link icon (it looks like the world with a chain-link). Inside the link screen, click Browse Server. The Resources Browser will pop up (see image below). If you have already uploaded the document you want, click to the folder it is located in and then click on the image. This will take you back to the link screen where you click OK to add the document link to your post.
If you have not yet uploaded the document you want, on the Resources Browser screen, navigate to the folder you would like to save it in and click Browse, near the bottom of the screen navigate on your computer to the document you want and click OK (see first image below). Then click Upload and click on the document now located in your folder (see second image below). Back on the link screen, click OK to add the document link to your post.
