ITS services would like to keep you informed of continuing email scams which are specifically designed to exploit Broome Community College users. The purpose is to obtain your BCC account information and use your account to send out thousands of fraudulent emails. These “phishing” schemes continue to become more sophisticated.

You may receive emails which are crafted to look as if they are being sent by a Broome Community College entity. Some may include a link to a web site asking you to enter your BCC account information. This fraudulent web site may use the exact same images and style sheets as used by our official site, www.sunybroome.edu.

Never reply to emails which ask for your username or password. Never enter your username or password on a web page in which you have been solicited to do so.

It is extremely important that you protect your account information. NO BCC DEPARTMENT WILL EVER ASK FOR YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION THROUGH AN EMAIL MESSAGE.

Registration for the 2010 fall semester begins on Monday, March 29.

EMILY&GEORGEDirected by the head of BCC’s popular theater program, Katherine Bacon, and with scenic design by our area’s premier designer Craig Saeger. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 25, 26 & 27 at 7:00 PM in the Little Theater in the Student Center on the BCC Campus.  Tickets -$10.00/$5.00 and are sold at the door. Reservations need to be made by calling 778-5191 after March 18th.  No children under 12 are allowed.

A common statement heard by any career development professional is often along the lines of, “I really don’t have any skills”. In our culture, where a braggart is often ignored or disrespected, and being humble is therefore encouraged, this is a common view. Additionally, many people assume that if they are good at something or have a specific talent, then said talent is probably fairly common or easily acquired.  The truth is that each of us has a profound and abundant skill set simply waiting to be discovered and exploited.  Everyone is in some way uniquely talented, yet very few people are fully aware of what their skills are. What is Banner?

Banner is an integrated student information system that includes registration, admissions, financial aid, and other student information.  Banner will become the principle database for all college records for Fall 2010 and beyond.
