(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome Community College President Dr. Kevin E. Drumm will host the spring 2010 graduation ceremony at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, which is located in downtown Binghamton.

Graduation is an opportunity for students, their family members and friends to celebrate several year’s worth of commitment, dedication and sacrifice by graduates. A community’s greatest obligation is to develop and educate its young people in what is becoming a more difficult world swirling with diverse beliefs and philosophies. On Thursday we will congratulate every student for meriting a College diploma, which will enable them to live a better life.
Of the 1240 graduates, 502 (40 %) are male while 738 (60 %) are female. The ages of the graduates range from 18 to 70, with an average age of 26. Approximately 60% of the graduates are traditional, while 40% are non-traditional.
The most popular graduating major is Liberal Arts, Associate in Arts.
The graduation ceremony will be streamed live over the Internet on the BCC website at www.sunybroome.edu. This is the first time ever those not able to attend can watch over the Internet. In addition families of international students will be able to watch graduation via web streaming.
