Citations seemed to be the main focus of the “Butt In or Butt Out” discussion held on October 27, 2009 at 11-1 pm in the Decker 201 lecture hall. The discussion centered around the problem of smoking on campus. 11 people gathered to shed some of their ideas and opinions in the matter, including two Health Department Officials, Director of Campus Safety, Joseph O’Connor, and a mother of a Broome Community College student.
Four different “potential” recommendations were printed out and discussed about the smoking policy on BCC campus. Read the rest of this entry »

Spread the word! The coolest club ever has finally arrived at BCC. Bowlers of any level are welcome. This is a noncompetitive league for BCC students that just want to have fun. We meet every Thursday 11:00 in the Titchner building, room 105. Hope to see you there!
The BCC women’s tennis team has done it again. The team’s hard work paid off and they have qualified for the NJCAA Division III tournament that will be held in May, 2010. Read the rest of this entry »
BCC Faculty contracts expired in August 31, 2008 and, after facing a protracted period without a contract, rumors are circulating that faculty are “working to rule”. This could mean that professors and other faculty members may start cutting back on the “extras” that they are not required to do, such as advising clubs, taking field trips and creating supplemental course material for students. A Survival Guide to Transfer Day (and College Open Houses)
Here at BCC, we’re halfway through the fall semester. That means there are a few absolutes we can state without much equivocation: Halloween is approaching, leaves are falling, and the women’s soccer team has reached double digits in the win column en route to a high seed in the NJCAA region 3 tournament. And finally, the first Thursday of November is almost upon us, which can mean only one thing: it’s almost BCC Transfer Day. Every year on the first Thursday in November, BCC hosts roughly 50 regional colleges and universities in the Student Center’s Baldwin Gymnasium for the annual BCC Transfer Day event.
