Basic Purpose:
Support Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering by developing and documenting manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment and solving manufacturing problems. Improve safety, delivery, quality, and cost, through process improvement.

Position Specifications:
Associates Degree in an engineering or related discipline, plus 1 – 2 years manufacturing experience or equivalent education/directly related work experience. Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy, under pressure and with frequent interruptions. Must have a thorough working knowledge of personal computers. Must possess strong diplomacy and problem solving skills.

Functional Scope:
Provide documentation and problem solving support to multiple departments and off-site locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in researching, evaluating, planning and implementing non-complex manufacturing processes including tool and equipment for new and existing products.
- Document manufacturing processes including visual aids, using the personal computer and
applicable programs, and ERP system.
- Assist ME with first article assemblies for qualification and manufacturability assessment.
- Assist in potential cost, process, work flow, tooling, quality, and safety improvements.
- Solve non-complex manufacturing problems and assist in the resolution of variance problems.
- Assist in implementing Engineering Changes.
- Review new processes with trainers.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity.
- Maintain Manufacturing Engineering documentation and data files.
- Assist in completing FMEA’s and Process Control Plans.
- Serve as backup for Manufacturing Engineers.
- Understand and follow applicable Company practices, policies and procedures.

Organizational Relationships:
Reports to the Director of Operations. Frequent contact with, Marketing, Product Engineering, Materials, and Manufacturing. Occasional contact with outside vendors and suppliers.
